In a time of virtual overload, Drue de Milo is the cure.

With a gift for unearthing stories inherent in nature, the Los Angeles/New York based singer/multi-media artist crafts cinematic pop anthems to soundtrack and myth-ify both the coolest and most ordinary moments of listener’s lives.

Approaching singing as a physical experience, the former ballerina’s first vocal coach was an opera singer. Honing a commitment to detail and a “do whatever it takes” attitude, she is dexterous and deliberate in her songwriting.

While attending the NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Drue worked at the infamous New York City hotspot The Box, where “physical feats were often means of story telling - as was the party.”

A resume that carries not only celebrated gigs at the Viper Room, SOB’s the Standard’s Boom Boom Room (to name a few) but style coverage in W and The Cut, walks down the NYFW main stage, features in V magazine, Wonderland, Ladygunn, and Hollywoodlife, – Drue recalls visiting the inmates at Rikers Island and performing a blues set among her most memorable experiences.

Her breakthrough single, “I Wanna Be Ur Girlfriend,” followed by fan-favorite “Psycho Heart,” set early tones for a combination of nuanced lyrics and sultry vocals that would later become Drue’s signature. “When I Fall In Love” in 2020 marked less of a cover version than an embrace of classic song styling retooled for now.

“I'm obsessed with human truths that are timeless; I love the idea of man against nature.”

“Drowning in Paradise” was the natural awakening of Drue’s next chapter. The single, released in September 2020, accumulating over 250k YouTube views and 100k Spotify streams, pushes a strong beat that carries a wistful, timeless pop vibe - it sounds like the ocean.

Visuals akin to the best of Herb Ritts’ work on this very same stretch of beach in Montauk, with the spice of a little Tarantino-esque drama, evoke the sensation of being invincible. Her self-directed video was awarded nine Best Music Video awards: at the Independent Short Awards, New York Movie Awards, Los Angeles Film Awards, among others, and an official selection at the Maui Film festival.

In the follow up remix, Drue trades breathy verses for a rideable beat, and a sensual romance for barrels. The video features eight WSL surfers in live action and animated form.

With an unapologetic point of view and an ultra-feminine touch, Drue de Milo mixes poetry with pop, fashion with the beach, and coolly encourages fans to be the “star of their own lives; if my music can be the soundtrack that gives people top billing in their own minds, I’ve succeeded.”
